Muhittin Mucahid Dogan pressured an 11-year-old girl into sending nude images after meeting her online and engaging in a game of Truth or Dare, while also exchanging sexually explicit content with another teenage girl. Full Description

Muhittin Mucahid Dogan, a 21-year-old man from Kirkby-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, engaged in online sexual exploitation of young girls, leading to his conviction at Nottingham Crown Court.

The primary incident involved Dogan meeting an 11-year-old girl online. She initially misrepresented her age as 17, but after playing a game of Truth or Dare, she admitted to being 13, though she was actually 11. Dogan, pretending to be 14, pressured her into sending nude images and reciprocated by sending a sexually explicit image of himself. The girl's family discovered the interactions and contacted the police, who subsequently examined Dogan's phone and uncovered evidence of similar sexually explicit conversations with another teenage girl.

Dogan pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child, three counts of making indecent images of a child, and one count of distributing an indecent photo of a child. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to two years in prison and placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years. The sentencing took place at Nottingham Crown Court.

Detective Constable Toby Marsh of Nottinghamshire Police described the case, stating: "Dogan exploited the innocence and vulnerability of his victims for his own sexual gratification." Marsh further emphasised the broader implications, noting: "I hope this outcome serves not only as a comfort to Dogan's victims and their families, but also as a warning to other young people to think twice about who they engage with on social media and what details and content they share - because, sadly, there are other people like Dogan out there who will readily exploit young people in this way."

This case highlights the dangers of online interactions for children, with Nottinghamshire Police leading the investigation based on the evidence recovered from Dogan's device.
