Offence Summary

Allahbaksh Nadaf was convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl and exposing himself to two other children in Aberdeen. He has been placed on the sex offenders register and remanded in custody pending a risk assessment before sentencing.

Full Description

An Aberdeen man, Allahbaksh Nadaf, has been found guilty of multiple child sex offences following a trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. The 30-year-old, from 597 Clifton Road, was convicted on three charges involving the sexual assault of a little girl and indecent exposure to two other children in the city.

During the trial, the court heard that Nadaf had strenuously denied the allegations, claiming he had been mistaken for someone else. However, a jury comprising 10 women and five men deliberated for just one hour before finding him guilty on all counts. The offences included inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl on November 25, 2014, exposing himself to an eight-year-old girl on November 24 of the previous year, and exposing himself to a 10-year-old girl on January 15 this year, while he was reportedly on bail.

Evidence presented showed that Nadaf handed himself in to a police station after media outlets released CCTV footage of him in the Castlegate area following one of the incidents. He claimed his presence was coincidental and that he merely matched the description of the suspect. In his testimony, Nadaf admitted to walking along Flourmill Lane shortly before one exposure incident but denied any involvement or seeing the victim. The three child victims identified him from a police parade as resembling the attacker.

  • Sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl (November 25, 2014)
  • Indecent exposure to an eight-year-old girl (November 24, previous year)
  • Indecent exposure to a 10-year-old girl (January 15, current year)

At a court appearance yesterday, Sheriff Graham Buchanan deferred sentencing to allow for a detailed risk assessment by a psychologist. The sheriff stated, 'I need to know what the likelihood of the young dad reoffending would be and if he is sent to jail whether he would be entitled to impose an extended sentence.' Nadaf, described as a young father, has been remanded in custody and placed on the sex offenders register. He is due to return to court next month for the assessment results and formal sentencing.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about child sexual exploitation in the Aberdeen area, with Police Scotland leading the investigation. The convictions underscore the effectiveness of CCTV and victim identifications in securing justice, as reported by The Press and Journal on their website.
