Full Description

George Brian Chipperfield, a 41-year-old resident of south Lincolnshire, has been sentenced to a total of 15 years for committing multiple rapes, with 12 years to be served in custody followed by a three-year extended licence period. The sentencing took place at Grimsby Crown Court on Friday, 9 May 2025, as reported by Lincolnshire Police.

The crimes for which Chipperfield was convicted date back to 2014 and continued into subsequent years. These serious sexual offences involved rape, causing significant harm and distress to the victim. The court heard details of the reprehensible actions that demonstrated Chipperfield's dangerous nature. In addition to the rape convictions, Chipperfield was already serving a four-year prison sentence for blackmail, which influenced the judge's decision to reduce the custodial portion of the rape sentence from the full 15 years.

The judge further adjusted the sentence downwards to account for Chipperfield's mental health difficulties. Despite these reductions, the severity of the offences led to Chipperfield being placed on the sex offender register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring post-release. Detective Constable Kirsty Farrar of Lincolnshire Police commended the victim's courage in coming forward, stating, 'Chipperfield is a dangerous individual and his actions caused great harm and distress – they were reprehensible.' She highlighted the collaborative efforts of various professionals in securing the conviction, including Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Sacha Darcey, Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Lawyer Sheetal Patel, and King's Counsel Andrew Vout.

Lincolnshire Police's investigation underscores their commitment to pursuing justice in cases of sexual violence. The case serves as a stark reminder of the long-term impact of such crimes on victims, with DC Farrar noting that while the sentencing provides some closure, the victim's recovery will likely be a prolonged journey.
