Full Description

Julian Pitcairn, 58, of River Mount, Walton, was given a 16-month prison sentence suspended for two years in June 2019 at Guildford Crown Court for possessing a paedophile manual and indecent images of children. He denied the charges but was convicted by a jury in May 2019. The investigation began in March 2018 when a paedophile manual believed to be his was handed to police, described as 'extremely challenging' by officers.

Seized devices, including his mobile phone, computer, and camera, revealed a link to the manual and searches related to schoolgirls. Pitcairn was also ordered to complete a sexual offenders treatment programme and unpaid work. Surrey Police led the probe into the possession offences.
