Full Description

Wisal Ahmad, aged 30 from Belle Vue in Bradford, was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on 19 September 2025 for a series of heinous sexual offences against a 12-year-old girl. Ahmad admitted to 12 counts, including rape and sexual assault, following a grooming process that led to repeated abuse. The offences occurred in the Bradford area, with Ahmad exploiting the young victim by taking her from her home to his address on several occasions.

The case came to light when the survivor was discovered outside Ahmad's address, appearing lost, which prompted her to report the crimes to West Yorkshire Police in September 2024. Officers swiftly arrested and charged Ahmad with multiple sexual offences. The grooming and subsequent rapes robbed the child of her innocence, leaving lasting psychological trauma, as evidenced by her impact statement read in court.

In her own words, the survivor described the profound effects of the abuse: 'I have got trust issues, I feel like when I’m outside I’m being judged, and people are looking at me. I cannot move on with my life, I’m always thinking about what happened. I cannot trust anyone. I feel so isolated, I don’t have any friends anymore.' This testimony underscores the devastating long-term impact on the victim.

Detective Constable Macauley Davis from the Bradford District Child Safeguarding Unit commended the survivor's bravery: 'I praise the survivor for reporting these abhorrent crimes to us. It cannot be underestimated how much courage it takes to come forward and report offences and her sheer bravery has stopped anyone else being a victim at the hands of Ahmad. Ahmed has robbed her of her childhood; he deserves to be in prison for a long time.' The sentencing reflects the severity of the crimes, ensuring Ahmad's removal from society for an extended period.

The court imposed additional measures to protect the public, including a sexual harm prevention order and lifetime registration on the sex offenders register. This case highlights the critical role of swift police action in child safeguarding, as detailed in the official West Yorkshire Police release.
