Offence Summary

Kane Walker was found guilty of rape, sexual assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour against a woman known to him. He has been remanded in custody pending sentencing.

Full Description

On 8 October 2025, Kane Walker, aged 21 and previously residing on County Road in Swindon, was convicted at Bristol Crown Court of one count of rape, sexual assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour following a trial by jury.

The offences stemmed from incidents reported by the victim, a woman in her 20s who knew Walker. On 6 March 2024, she reported to Wiltshire Police that she had been raped by Walker and subjected to a prolonged period of controlling and coercive behaviour. This included Walker placing an Airtag in her bag to track her, repeatedly activating her live location without her consent, and exerting control over her clothing choices and social interactions.

Walker was arrested and interviewed by police the day after the report. While on bail, he attempted to intimidate the victim into withdrawing her complaint and further asserted control by setting fire to a BMW belonging to a family member of the victim. For these additional offences of arson and witness intimidation, Walker was jailed in November 2024.

Following an investigation by Wiltshire Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Walker was charged with multiple sexual offences and remanded into custody ahead of trial. Despite denying the charges, the jury found him guilty on all counts related to the sexual offences and coercive behaviour.

Major Crime Investigator Catherine Baird commended the victim's courage, stating: “Firstly, I’d like to say how proud I am of the victim and how much I admire her bravery throughout this process. Walker attempted to scare her into dropping the case, but she showed great courage and his awful actions were then used as evidence in this trial. I hope today’s verdict means she can now start to heal and move forward with her life. She is a survivor and took a stand against this dangerous bully, and her bravery and strength will help to protect other women. No woman should have to endure what Walker subjected her to. I am glad justice has been served and I thank the victim, the witnesses in the case and the members of the jury for helping to achieve this.”

Walker remains remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing hearing scheduled for 19 November 2025 at Bristol Crown Court. The case was prosecuted by Wiltshire Police, highlighting the force's commitment to supporting survivors of sexual violence.
