Full Description

Carson Grimes, featured in a two-part episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody, was brought to justice in 2021 after multiple victims came forward about the abuse they suffered. Known as Bedfordshire's most prolific paedophile, Grimes targeted Luton's most vulnerable children, grooming them before supplying alcohol and drugs and subjecting them to a 'campaign of rape' in what was described as his 'house of horrors'. The judge called him a dangerous man, noting the victims' subsequent struggles with drugs, alcohol, and crime.

Grimes was found guilty of 11 counts of rape, 8 counts of buggery (reclassified as rape post-1994), 11 counts of indecent assault, and 6 counts of indecency with a child. In October 2021, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 22 years. Bedfordshire Police's investigation involved victim testimonies that exposed the scale of his offences.

The case was widely publicised, contributing to awareness of child sexual exploitation in the community.
