Full Description

Talha Ahmadzai, aged 33 from Haverfordwest, committed a series of grave sexual offences in February 2025, targeting three victims: a woman, a girl, and a boy. The offences, which included rape, assault, and acts of cruelty towards children, were investigated by Dyfed-Powys Police, leading to his arrest and subsequent prosecution at Swansea Crown Court.

Ahmadzai pleaded guilty in November 2025 to three counts of rape, rape of a child under 13, assault by beating, causing a child to watch a sexual act, attempting to rape a child under 13, and cruelty to a person under 16. These admissions came during a hearing prior to his sentencing. The court heard details of the horrific abuse inflicted upon the victims, highlighting the severity and predatory nature of his actions.

On 16 March 2026, at Swansea Crown Court, Ahmadzai was sentenced to a total of 19 years and seven months in custody, with an additional two-year extended licence period, bringing the overall term to 21 years. He was also subjected to an indefinite restraining order prohibiting any contact with his victims. The sentencing reflected the court's recognition of his dangerousness, as evidenced by the remarks from Detective Inspector Sarah Totterdale of North Pembrokeshire CID, who stated: 'Ahmadzai is clearly an incredibly dangerous and cruel individual, and the sentence he has received reflects this.' Totterdale further commended the victims' bravery, noting: 'I would like to commend the bravery and dignity shown by his victims, who courageously gave their evidence of their horrendous ordeals.'

The investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police was praised for its professionalism, with Totterdale adding: 'Thanks to their evidence, and all the hard work from our team of detectives, we were able to secure a charging decision on Ahmadzai, and he has now been sentenced to a lengthy prison term where he is no longer a danger to the public.' This case underscores the commitment of law enforcement in Pembrokeshire to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and delivering justice for sexual offences.
