Full Description

Elliot Jones, a 49-year-old man formerly residing at Chantry Lane, Necton, Norfolk, was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on 13 February 2026 following an investigation by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary’s Major Crime Team. Jones had previously admitted to 21 charges, which encompassed sexual activity with a child and the production of indecent photographs of children. The court learned that over a period of years, Jones engaged in the abuse of several children and actively encouraged others to participate in their exploitation, with offences occurring in various locations throughout the United Kingdom.

The investigation was initiated after one of the victims reported the abuse upon reaching adulthood, leading authorities to identify additional victims. During Jones's arrest, devices including phones, USB sticks, and a hard drive were seized, revealing a substantial collection of indecent images and videos that provided clear evidence of the offences. Judge Adam Feest, in delivering the sentence, described Jones as a ‘highly manipulative and exploitative individual’ and emphasised that the risk he posed to others was ‘of the highest order’. Jones received a total extended sentence of 34 years, comprising 26 years in custody and an eight-year extended licence period. Additionally, he was subjected to indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and notification requirements.

Detective Sergeant Sam Grant from the Major Crime Team highlighted the manipulative nature of Jones's behaviour as a common thread in the offences, which spanned multiple years. The case underscored the long-term impact of such crimes, with evidence from seized devices playing a crucial role in corroborating victim accounts and bringing the perpetrator to justice.
