Full Description

Sarfraz Latif Ahmed, aged 40, was among the men convicted for sexually abusing a vulnerable child in Bradford from 2002 to 2004. The victim, aged 13 to 16 and in local authority care, was routinely exploited and assaulted by the group of perpetrators.

Following the second trial on 21 February 2025, Ahmed was found guilty of one count of indecency with a child and three counts of indecent assault. The case, investigated by West Yorkshire Police and prosecuted by the CPS’s Organised Child Sexual Abuse Unit, involved separate trials due to the complexity and number of defendants.

On 3 October 2025, he was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment at Bradford Crown Court, coinciding with the lifting of reporting restrictions. This allowed the public to learn of the victim's extraordinary courage in pursuing justice. CPS Specialist Prosecutor Martin McRobb commented: “We are extremely grateful to her, and I hope she can find some closure knowing her evidence was instrumental in securing justice.” The prosecution's success reinforces the commitment to tackling organised child sexual abuse, regardless of time elapsed.
