Jonathan Balmer

A 37-year-old man from Leigh, Greater Manchester, has appeared in court facing multiple historic child sex offences committed over two decades ago. Jonathan Balmer, residing at Briar Grove in Leigh, was accused of serious sexual crimes against young girls when he himself was a minor.

The charges were heard at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on 20th February. Balmer faced a total of ten counts, comprising four counts of indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 14, five counts of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, and one count of raping a girl under the age of 13. All allegations pertain to incidents that occurred between December 2001 and December 2005, a period during which Balmer was also underage.
