Full Description

Jack Jolliffe, a 28-year-old man from Bradford, West Yorkshire, was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on 15 December 2023 for committing serious child sex offences. He pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, as well as producing and possessing indecent and prohibited images of children. The court heard how Jolliffe had taken advantage of a vulnerable young victim, demonstrating a significant risk to children in the community.

The investigation was led by the Bradford District Child Safeguarding Unit of West Yorkshire Police. Detective Constable Sam Swift commented on the case, stating: 'We welcome the sentence handed to Jolliffe today. He took advantage of a young girl and posed a real risk to children. I hope the sentence can give his victim some comfort and justice that we take all reports of sexual offences seriously and they will be investigated thoroughly.' This sentencing underscores the authorities' commitment to protecting children from sexual exploitation and abuse.

Jolliffe's actions involved the creation and retention of prohibited material, alongside the direct assault on a minor, highlighting the gravity of the offences committed in the Bradford area. The four-and-a-half-year custodial sentence reflects the court's recognition of the harm inflicted and the need to safeguard the public from further offending.
