Full Description

A 23-year-old man from Llandeilo has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to child sexual abuse images at Swansea Crown Court.

Zack Spencer, of Carmarthen Road in Llandeilo, appeared before Judge Catherine Richards on 4th August. He faced eight offences spanning from November 2020 to March 2022. Spencer was charged with three counts of making indecent images of children, involving 11 Category A images—the most serious category—13 Category B, and 20 Category C images. Additionally, he was accused of three counts of distributing such images, specifically two Category A, 10 Category B, and five Category C images between December 2021 and March 2022.

Further charges included possession of six extreme pornographic images depicting bestiality and three prohibited images of children, all seized on 24th March 2022. Spencer entered guilty pleas to all charges. His defence barrister, Jon Tarrant, noted that Spencer had no previous criminal record and was visibly upset and distressed by the circumstances.

Judge Richards adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report, warning that the starting point for offences of this nature is immediate custody. Spencer was granted bail and is scheduled to return for sentencing on 28th August. As a result of his guilty pleas, he will be required to register as a sex offender.

The case was reported by the South Wales Guardian, with court proceedings held at Swansea Crown Court. South Wales Police are the investigating force in this matter.
