Full Description

Fraser Brennan, 35, of Allanville, Camperdown, received a 27-year sentence for sexual offences that included rape. Prosecuted by Northumbria Police, this case added to the force's impressive record of securing long-term imprisonment for sexual abusers over the past 15 months.

Handled by the Safeguarding Department, the investigation led to a trial at Newcastle Crown Court, culminating in Brennan's conviction in December 2024. The offences involved severe sexual violence, emphasising the need for vigilant policing in this area.

Detective Chief Superintendent Lyn Peart noted: “Every day, they see and hear things which no one should – but they do it so they can keep people safe and secure justice for victims.” This case's severity is showcased to encourage reporting.

CPS North East's Lauren Costello commented: “The damaging effect of such crimes on victims cannot be overstated.” The joint efforts ensured Brennan's removal from society for a significant period.
