Full Description

Paul Davis, a 78-year-old man, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for sexually abusing three young girls in Nottinghamshire. The offences occurred between 2017 and 2020, with Davis assaulting each victim on multiple occasions at different locations across the county.

The victims, described as courageous young girls, demonstrated remarkable bravery by coming forward and reporting the abuse to authorities. Their accounts led to Davis being tracked down and arrested shortly after. He was charged with eight counts of sexual assault of a girl and two counts of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity. Despite the severity of the allegations, Davis denied all ten charges, forcing the victims and their families to endure a week-long trial at Nottingham Crown Court in October 2025.

During the trial, the jury saw through Davis's denials and found him guilty on every count. He was sentenced on 12 December 2025 at the same court. Detective Constable Lisa Torrance of Nottinghamshire Police commended the victims' strength, stating: "I can’t even comprehend how hard it must’ve been for them to share what had happened to them, but they showcased immense bravery in deciding to do so." She contrasted this with Davis's actions, adding: "In complete contrast to this, Paul Davis demonstrated the coward he is by denying everything, which ensured the people he’d hurt then had to sit through a week-long trial."

The case was reported by the Newark Advertiser on 17 December 2025, highlighting the impact on the victims' families and the hope that the sentence provides some closure. Nottinghamshire Police supplied a photo of Davis, now residing at HMP Nottingham, underscoring the force's role in securing the conviction.
