A 74-year-old man from Watford has pleaded guilty to possessing a large collection of indecent images of children, facing sentencing in the coming weeks.

Norman Paul, of Hartspring Lane, appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, October 2, where he indicated guilty pleas to three charges of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child. The offences spanned from March 2008 to July 5, 2024, and were categorised according to severity: 202 images fell into Category A, the most serious classification involving the most explicit material; 177 were Category B; and 1,033 were Category C.
