Mark Ball, a 52-year-old man from Penkridge, was sentenced to four years in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting a woman.

The offence took place earlier this year, and Ball initially denied the allegations before later admitting guilt. He appeared at Stafford Crown Court where he received his custodial sentence.

Staffordshire Police welcomed the outcome. Detective Constable Jason MacTaggart stated: “The survivor in this case has shown immense courage in coming forward and supporting this investigation, despite Ball’s original attempts to deny anything had happened. We are working tirelessly every single day in Staffordshire to act robustly against sex offenders and to support survivors as much as possible.”
