Offence Summary

Saynor, a limousine driver, was convicted of multiple child sex abuse offences including rape, grooming, and sexual assault after luring vulnerable girls with offers of promotional work and plying them with drink and drugs. He targeted girls in Rotherham, picking them up from schools or care homes in his stretched Hummer limousine.

Full Description

On 10th July 2024, Saynor, aged 76 and residing in Mayall Court, Waddington, Lincolnshire, was found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court of a series of child sex abuse offences dating back to 2005. These crimes were uncovered as part of Operation Stovewood, the National Crime Agency's (NCA) largest investigation into non-familial child sexual exploitation and abuse in the UK.

Saynor, who operated as a limousine driver in Rotherham, preyed on vulnerable teenage girls by inviting them to participate in 'promotional work' for his brand. He would collect them from schools or care homes using his distinctive stretched Hummer limousine or transport them to and from teenage discos. Once isolated, he plied the victims with alcohol and drugs before subjecting them to rape or sexual assault, issuing threats of harm if they disclosed the abuse to anyone.

  • Four counts of rape
  • Two counts of paying for sexual services of a child
  • Five counts of meeting a child following sexual grooming
  • Three counts of assault by penetration
  • Two counts of sexual activity with a child
  • Two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child

Described by investigators as a 'manipulative predator', Saynor's conviction marks the 34th under Operation Stovewood, highlighting the ongoing commitment to pursuing historical child sex offences. The trial, which lasted five weeks, relied heavily on the courage of the victims who came forward, enabling the NCA to build a robust case. Police praised the bravery of these survivors, noting that the conviction provides them with closure and ensures Saynor can no longer prey on others.

Sentencing is scheduled for 15th August 2024 at Sheffield Crown Court. This case underscores the determination of law enforcement to address child sexual exploitation, no matter how much time has passed since the offences occurred.
