Offence Summary

A 19-year-old man from Leyton was jailed for 14 years after committing multiple sexual assaults, including rape, on three teenage girls aged 13, 14, and 15 at a disused changing room block.

Full Description

A teenage paedophile from Leyton has been sentenced to a total of 14 years in prison for a series of violent sexual attacks on three young girls. Jay Jay Victor-Junior Alexander, 19, of Grange Park, Leyton, was convicted at Snaresbrook Crown Court of raping and sexually assaulting the victims, who were aged 13, 14, and 15, in a disused changing room block at Ive Farm Close running track on 25 January this year.

The court heard that Alexander held one of the victims, a 13-year-old girl, against her will after she rejected his advances, subjecting her to a vicious sexual assault. The offences included rape, for which he received 14 years with a minimum of seven years to serve; three years for sexual assault by penetration; eight weeks for sexual assault on a female; and 18 months for causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Additional non-sexual charges included 13 months for false imprisonment, six months for sexual assault, 16 weeks for actual bodily harm, six months for possessing an offensive weapon, and ten weeks for assault with intent to rob, to which he pleaded guilty. All sentences were ordered to run concurrently.

Waltham Forest Crown Prosecution Service Borough Crown Prosecutor Jo Tang described the case as alarming, stating: "This was an alarming case which saw a thirteen year old girl held against her will and subjected to a vicious sexual assault, simply because she rejected the defendant’s advances. This is a dangerous offender and thanks to the extreme courage shown by the victim, in coming forward and then giving evidence in court, he has been convicted of a number of very serious offences and will be in prison for some time." The case was prosecuted by the Crown Prosecution Service, with the offences occurring in Waltham Forest, east London.

Judge Jacqueline Beech handed down the sentence today, emphasising the severity of the crimes against the vulnerable young victims. Alexander's actions demonstrated a pattern of predatory behaviour, targeting the girls at the isolated location. The conviction followed a trial where the victims' testimony played a crucial role in securing justice.
