A 77-year-old pensioner from Prestatyn, North Wales, has been found guilty of multiple child sexual abuse offences following a trial at Caernarfon Crown Court. Michel Baucage, residing on Plas Avenue, was convicted on eight counts related to the sexual exploitation of a child, marking a significant case in the region's ongoing efforts to combat such crimes.

The offences, which came to light through investigative work by North Wales Police, involved serious violations against a young victim. Baucage was found guilty of four counts of assaulting a child by touching, two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, one charge of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and one charge of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. The trial, presided over by Recorder Robin Rouch, concluded in February with the jury delivering unanimous verdicts on all charges.

During the court appearance on 9th April at Caernarfon Crown Court, Baucage was informed that a sentencing hearing has been scheduled for 1st May. The Recorder addressed Baucage directly, stating: "All sentencing options are obviously open. You know the seriousness of the offending that you have been found guilty of committing." Baucage remains on bail until the sentencing date, where the full extent of his punishment will be determined.
