Offence Summary

Aled Williams, a convicted sex offender from Felindre, admitted to possessing child sex abuse images, extreme pornography depicting bestiality, and breaching a sexual harm prevention order. He pleaded guilty to multiple online sex offences at Swansea Crown Court and was remanded in custody pending sentencing.

Full Description

Aled Williams, a 52-year-old man from Felindre, Llandysul, appeared at Swansea Crown Court on charges related to child sex abuse material and other sexual offences. Williams, who was already subject to a sexual harm prevention order imposed by the same court on 18 May 2018, admitted to a series of serious online sex crimes spanning several years.

The charges against Williams included three counts of making indecent images of children between December 2017 and September 2024. Authorities alleged that he possessed 103 Category A images—the most severe classification—along with 48 Category B and 27 Category C images. Additionally, he faced five charges of attempted sexual communication with a child, with the earliest incident dating back to January 2023.

  • Williams was accused of breaching his sexual harm prevention order by failing to produce an internet-enabled device when requested by police between 19 June and 11 September 2024.
  • He was also charged with possession of 60 extreme pornographic images depicting bestiality and eight prohibited images of children, discovered on 10 September 2024.

During the court appearance, Williams pleaded guilty to all charges. Judge Huw Rees remanded him into custody and ordered the preparation of a pre-sentence report. Addressing the defendant, the judge stated that a prison sentence was 'inevitable'. Sentencing is scheduled for 19 December 2024 at Swansea Crown Court.
