Miles Goninon

Miles Goninon, 29, of the Winkleigh area in Devon, was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Exeter Crown Court on 23 April 2026 after pleading guilty to 25 sexual offences against children.

The court heard that Goninon targeted numerous vulnerable young girls via Snapchat, using multiple accounts to pose as a teenager. He built their trust and then incited them to produce and share degrading sexual content, and to carry out acts of self-harm. He also distributed child abuse material to other users.

Devon and Cornwall Police launched an investigation after receiving intelligence that a Snapchat account linked to Goninon’s email address had asked a child for an indecent video. Officers traced the account to his home and executed a warrant in June 2024, seizing a large number of electronic devices.

A forensic examination of the devices uncovered a huge catalogue of indecent images and videos of children across all three categories of severity. Many of the victims had been filmed by Goninon himself during their online interactions. Some victims were identified via their Snapchat usernames and visited by police, but authorities believe hundreds of victims remain unidentified worldwide.

Goninon refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing during police interviews. The sentencing judge noted he showed no remorse and very limited empathy for the devastating impact his crimes have had on the victims.

Detective Inspector Simon Foster of Devon and Cornwall Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team described the case as “complex and extremely disturbing”. He praised the officers’ dedication and said: “Miles Goninon showed no remorse or care for his victims and was driven by his sadistic desires to harm children. We welcome today’s sentence and hope this conviction serves as a stark warning.”

In addition to the prison term, Goninon was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order until further notice and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
