Full Description

Stewart Fleming, aged 31, was convicted of a catalogue of serious sexual offences following a trial that concluded on 18 September 2025 at the High Court in Glasgow. On 13 November 2025, he was sentenced to a minimum of 17 years in prison, with an additional five years on licence in the community, and placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

The offences for which Fleming was found guilty included six charges of rape, one charge of sexual assault, and three charges of assault to injury. He was also convicted of offences under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act. All five victims were women known to Fleming, and the abuse involved both physical and emotional manipulation, demonstrating a pattern of controlling behaviour that persisted throughout each relationship.

Detective Inspector Lyndsay Laird of Police Scotland commented on the case, stating: 'Fleming carried out some of the most horrific abuse against women and used both physical and emotional manipulation throughout his offending.' She further noted that the investigating team spent considerable time with the victims to understand the events and present clear evidence of the abusive pattern.

The sentencing took place at the High Court in Glasgow, highlighting the severity of the crimes committed within Scotland. This case underscores the ongoing efforts by Police Scotland to address domestic abuse and sexual offences, ensuring that perpetrators face appropriate consequences.
