Full Description

Stacie John Farrar, a 47-year-old resident of Oakland View in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, has been sentenced for committing serious sexual offences against two young children. Farrar, described by investigators as an 'abhorrent' individual, exploited the trust placed in him by a family to sexually abuse two victims under the age of 13 over several years. His actions were driven by his own sexual gratification, preying on the vulnerability of the children.

The case came to light when Humberside Police launched an investigation following a report that one child had disclosed the abuse perpetrated by Farrar. During the initial enquiries, a second victim bravely came forward, reporting similar offences committed against them by the same offender. This led to Farrar's arrest, after which he was interviewed but denied all allegations, claiming uncertainty about why the victims would accuse him.

Farrar was charged with five counts of sexual assault of a female child under 13, assault by penetration, and rape of a girl under 13. Following a five-day trial at Grimsby Crown Court, which concluded on Friday, 13 June 2025, he was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. On Tuesday, 19 August 2025, at Hull Crown Court, Farrar was sentenced to three years and three months' imprisonment. In addition to the custodial sentence, he received an indefinite restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order, and he will be required to register on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Detective Constable Katherine Drapier, the officer in the case from Humberside Police, commended the victims and their families for their bravery throughout the investigation and court proceedings. She stated: 'Farrar is an abhorrent individual and dangerous to children, taking advantage of their trust in him, all for his own sexual gratification.' The police emphasised their commitment to pursuing justice in cases of sexual offences, highlighting the importance of victims coming forward.

This case underscores the devastating impact of child sexual abuse and the role of law enforcement in holding perpetrators accountable. Humberside Police's thorough investigation ensured that Farrar faced the consequences of his actions, providing some measure of closure for the victims.
