Kieran Parkinson

Kieran Parkinson, a 36-year-old man of no fixed address, was convicted of serious sexual offences against a child following a trial at Grimsby Crown Court. The case, reported by Grimsby Live and The Echo, detailed how Parkinson groomed a young boy with offers of money in exchange for sexual acts. On one occasion, he performed a sex act on himself while the boy watched, and on another, he stood rubbing his private parts in the boy's presence for several minutes.

Prosecutor Steven Swift outlined the disturbing evidence during the trial, which included Facebook chats between Parkinson and his wife, Mary Parkinson, where they discussed raping and assaulting children. Police searches of Parkinson's phone revealed videos of women having sex with animals, including a lengthy homemade clip showing his 38-year-old wife engaged in sexual activity with the family dog. Parkinson admitted to three counts of possession of extreme pornographic images, and was found guilty of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and causing a child to watch a sexual act.

Parkinson, who had no previous convictions, was sentenced by Judge David Swinnerton to two-and-a-half years in prison. The judge also imposed a sexual harm prevention order and a notification requirement, both lasting 10 years, along with a victim surcharge. The offences highlight the predatory nature of Parkinson's actions, as the boy reported to police that Parkinson had offered him cash for sex acts.

Mary Parkinson, also of no fixed address, admitted to three counts of possession of extreme pornographic images. She had limited previous convictions, including for fraud, and her sentencing was adjourned until later that week. The case underscores the involvement of both individuals in possessing illegal material, though only Kieran Parkinson's direct abuse of the child led to his immediate custodial sentence.
